THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS…

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

comedy and tragedyWe live in a society where everybody is peddling joy.  Televangelist types try to sell you religion, and the legion of advertisers tell you that joy can be found in a bottle, pill, or new car.  Yet when we examine the life and teachings of the apostle Paul in Acts 16 and Phil. 1 we will learn where joy is to be found.  Join us for this two-part series beginning Sunday, August 29th and ending Sunday, September 5th.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE REQUIRED

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

PG-REven though our children spend more time at home than at church, why is it that so many parents feel it’s the church’s job to guide our children’s spiritual formation?  Is an hour of Sunday school a week “good enough?”  The next iConnect series,  “Parental Guidance Required”, will not only help parents realize that it’s their job to guide their children, it will also give ideas and direction on how to make the home the primary location for spiritual formation.  This series will equip parents to take greater ownership and responsibility for their children’s spiritual development while at the same time help all of us (whether we have children or not) grow in our own relationship with God by making Him part of our home life.  We all at one time or another have wished our kids came with an “Owners Manual”…why not create our own!
