Shawn Harris is our full time Director of Youth Ministries. He is a native of Lake County, and graduated from Riverside High School. His parents still live in the Painesville Township home where he and his two sisters grew up.
Shawn is a graduate of Lincoln Christian College where he earned a B.A. degree in Youth Ministry and Preaching. Lincoln is affiliated with the independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, and is located in central Illinois (in Lincoln!) amid the many fields of corn and beans.
In college he interned with and was later hired by Community Christian Church, a large, multi-site non-denominational church. He served on the student ministry team as the Director of Junior High ministries at their Naperville, IL site.
He and his wife, Angela are delighted to return to Lake County, where they both enjoy spending time with their young daughter Emma and son Noah.
Shawn loves reading, listening to music, playing cornhole, and writing. He loves to connect with people and looks forward to being involved with our young people, youth leaders and in the life of our church. He sees student ministry as a terrific opportunity to join Jesus – working in the lives of students and their families.
He invites you to stop into his office and get acquainted.
Bev Wrobel serves full time on our pastoral staff. She is our visitation pastor as well as one of our teaching pastors. She enjoys preaching at iConnect but her passion is connecting to people one on one. She notes, “Jesus preached to the multitudes but related to them one on one.” Bev is also a Christian counselor. Her heart is to help the hurting. She offers pastoral counseling to individuals, couples and families by appointment.
Bev is a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary with two master’s degrees – a Master of Divinity (Clinical Counseling) and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. She completed ten units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the Cleveland Clinic while serving there as a hospital chaplain for five years. Her work included a significant focus in the areas of chemical dependency and palliative care. She has also served as a hospice chaplain for a number of years.
Bev grew up in the small town of Montville in Geauga County. She and her husband, Steve, live in Willoughby. They enjoy walking and cross-country skiing. They have a son, Brian, and daughter-in-law, Stacy and grandson, Joshua. Bev loves being with her family. They especially enjoy cookouts and playing cards.
Bev is an advocate for small group studies. She and Steve regularly offer “The Basics” classes for those who want to know more about living out the Christian faith. The classes are also utilized for those interested in becoming a member at Mentor UMC.
Bev hopes that those attending iConnect will be strengthened and encouraged in their relationship with Jesus Christ . . . Jesus is love and He brings restoration and redemption to our lives. All are invited!
